In the centre of the Manitoba Art Expo exhibition hall at Assiniboia Downs will be found the Showcase Gallery.

This is the tenth year the Manitoba Art Expo has provided this special attraction to feature the works of a number of the participating artists in a gallery setting. An artist may hang only one piece of work at this venue but there will be a reference to the artist's booth to view more of an individual's work.

The Showcase Gallery is intended to be a showpiece of Manitoba visual art and to heighten the senses of the public to the talent which abounds in this Province. To this end the sponsoring Cooperative is convinced Manitoba art can stand on its own feet without the added support of outside professional artists; however talented they may be.

The history of the show has proven the accuracy of this philosophy with almost 3500 people annually attending the event and purchases by the public in the tens of thousands of dollars.
