~ Lori Zébière ~
acrylic, oil-pastel

Canadian expressionist painter, Lori Zébière combines a passion for animals, nature and landscape with a love of vibrant bold colour to produce eye-popping contemporary works. Her style is a result of many influences that span from the European fauvist painters of a century ago through to Canada’s own impressionists, First Nations and contemporary artists. Growing up in Northwestern Ontario provided her a deep respect for Canada’s First Nations people and she is often inspired by their use of colour, storytelling and symbolism. Lori is a self-directed artist, a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) and volunteers with Manitoba’s Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre.

“My work is all about experimenting with colour, shape and spirit to express emotion. I want to communicate to my viewer how I see the world as a powerful, magnificent, place full of energy and life; as well as a playful, whimsical place with endless possibilities. I do not wish to copy Mother Nature, only to interpret her in my own unique way.”

Lori is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Manitoba Society of Artists, The Selkirk Community Art Centre, The Oil Pastel Society and the Assiniboia Group of Artists Cooperative. Her work can be found in private collections throughout Canada and the United States.
