Randy Warren was born in 1967 in Portage La
Prairie, Manitoba. It was here in this rural tranquility that a love of
nature became his inspiration to grow as an artist.
He began his art career in 1985, when he sold
his first commissioned piece, a granite etching.
After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts (honours)
degree, from the University of Manitoba,he started work at a bronze
memorial company. He became the in-house artist, creating bronze relief
sculptures. Randy’s bronze sculptures can be seen throughout North
America. His work includes portraits for the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of
fame, a plaque for George Bush Sr., and the RCMP Crest.
Choosing to follow a lifelong dream to sculpt in
the round, Randy began carving soapstone. In 2009, Randy won seven awards
at the Prairie Canada Carvers Competition including “Best of Show”, and
second place, for “ novice carver in natural materials.”
