Strong and vibrant colour with repeated shapes are what Ellen
Turbett uses to attract viewers to her paintings.

She loves the
transparency of watercolour and is also adept in mixed media
and collage. Ellen's art reflects a creative and imaginative
style. Her paintings often live in her mind for a time, before
growing from thought and emotion to paper.

She has lived in the Interlake for most
of her life, where the open spaces, changing seasons and natural
environment have influenced her work.

Largely self-taught, Ellen's studies include
classes with the late Bette Rothwell, Forum Art Institute and
WAG. She is an active member of several art groups, an elected
member of the Manitoba Society of Artists and the Winnipeg Sketch
Club. She was a participant in the Manitoba Society of Artists
100th Anniversary exhibition this year at the Main/Access Gallery.

Her paintings exhibit throughout Manitoba
and are owned by collectors across Canada and the United States.
