A lifetime resident of Winkler and a self-taught artist,
Lori Rietze loves the freedom and expression that watercolours bring to her
focus on her art. Many of her paintings are reflections of her childhood and
growing up on the prairies. She believes her best paintings are produced as
a result of sharing these memories. Her subjects vary from prairie scenes to
seascapes, from animated figures to animals to portraiture.

Lori designed the donor wall for Boundary Trails Health Centre in Southern
Manitoba as well as the stained glass windows for a local church. She has
also taught watercolour basics at the Brandon Rural Forum

She is a member of the Assiniboia Group of Artists Cooperative and the Pembina
Hills Art Gallery. Her paintings have won many awards in juried art shows.
This July one of her paintings will be displayed in the Manitoba Legislative
Building along with other rural artist’s work.
