For artist Nora Reid, nature is her
teacher.

Several times each week, she takes excursions
into the countryside to find wildflowers in bloom, which she
reproduces in pencil and watercolour sketches. Each plant is
researched and identified carefully. Nora has filled several
large sketchbooks with nature illustrations, which she uses in
her formal compositions.

Working in oils on canvas, Nora has painted
many scenes of Manitoba, from Hudson Bay to the prairies. Her
most challenging and creative work is that of floral compositions,
using antique vases with wildflowers or blossoms from her garden.
Nora has participated in many art exhibitions and has been a
feature artist several times. Her work may be found in gift shops
and several art galleries in Manitoba.
