~ Elma Rauser ~

Elma Rauser's work is a reflection of her natural curiosity. A strong understanding of colour and light continues to guide her as an artist. An avid student of life and the world around her, her passion is to recreate the sensations and the detail of each scene that she captures on film or on canvas. No matter the subject or the medium, her art is an expression of what she sees: beauty, design, and colour. She works with a wide variety of subject matter, but always the outdoors acts as fuel for her creative inspiration.

"By spending time outdoors in all seasons, from early morning to dusk, I see reflections and shadows and how they affect the subject I have  chosen."

Elma's work can be found in many private collections. She participates  in several local arts associations and exhibits in many juried shows  each year, including Manitoba Art Expo, where she is a founding  member. Her art has earned several awards. She works as a teacher of art, running classes and workshops, and organizing yearly shows featuring her students' work.

She lives near Birds Hill Provincial Park.
