John Nielsen has been a fixture on the Manitoba art scene for many years; being one of the original exhibitors in Manitoba Art Expo. He is returning to the Expo after a long absence and is very pleased to be back.

     John has an inquisitive personality and in his career he has experimented with various media, styles, and subject matter. His main medium has been watercolour but recently he has become very interested in digital imagery.

     One of the subjects that he has been exploring is the fascination that mankind has with it's own image, and the many ways in which artists have captured it over the millenia. His images in this year's Art Expo will be examples of that theme, captured digitally and manipulated in the computer to come up with his own unique interpretations of the subject.
