Julie Harris' appreciation of Manitoba in its extreme seasons is evident in her paintings.

     Capturing the still peace of a brittle winter day or the splendor of summer, her realistic style emphasizes detail with the retention of movement and depth.

     Born in Birmingham, England, Julie graduated with art history, perspectives, free expression and art forms as major study areas. In her late teens, she immigrated to Winnipeg, and renewed her interest in art a few years later.

     Julie's work was chosen for advertising of the 1999 and 2002 Saskatchewan Government Insurance calendars. At the Manitoba Interlake Art Show, she received the "People's Choice Award" in 1996, 2000 and 2002, and was judged first place in oils in 2000. And in this very Art Expo she garnered the "Peoples' Choice Award" in 2002 and 2004.
