Monika Hansen began painting at an early age.  Essentially self-taught, she paints the landscape she loves using watercolours. She works from her studio in rural Manitoba.

     Though her subject matter is varied, in all her work she tries to capture the rugged beauty of our Canadian landscape. It can be in the tiny details of a tree, or the delicate nature of wild flowers, but the focus often appear uncluttered and her love for simplicity is evident.

     Many of Monika's images have been made into art cards and can be viewed on her web site.
