Elizabeth was a teacher in the public school system for 34 years, retiring in 2003. After traveling for six months, she decided to take up water colour painting, a long held dream. She took a beginners’ class with Bill Shoup in early 2004, and since that time has continued to study and take courses. She has recently begun to experiment with mixed media, encaustics, silk painting, oils, and acrylics, and is now also painting with watercolour on canvas and clayboard. She says that the act of painting calms as well as energizes her, “but mostly it challenges my mind”.

     Elizabeth has exhibited and sold her work at many venues, locally and beyond. In 2008 she was accepted into the Manitoba Society of Artists. She is the current president of Local Colour Art Group. www.localcolourart.ca
