There is a visual element to the collective subconscious
– we attribute meaning to colour, form, symbol and number. My approach is to allow
the energy of images to flow through from that universal source, in order to present
a reflection of some aspect of inner reality. The joy is the journey of discovery.
I’ve been excited about art for as long as I can remember.
I was taught and inspired by Audrey Riller and Mary Valentine at St. John’s-Ravenscourt
School in Winnipeg. I later continued with fine art courses at Queen’s University,
Alberta College of Art, and University of Manitoba.
I recently ‘returned to the fold’ as an artist, working
mostly in oil pastel. Since 2008 I’ve had 3 solo shows, as well as participating
in “Stone Age” at the St. Norbert Arts Centre. I am represented by Gallery Lacosse
in Winnipeg.
