Initially painting in oil, Leslie is currently working primarily in ink and watercolour. Her style has evolved to combining elements of realism with loose, free flowing colour producing expressive, unconventional results. She has been painting for over 30 years with her work exhibited in local galleries and juried shows in Canada and the United States. She does not limit her subject matter although her work often explores the interaction of humans and animals with their environment. Fostering dogs and cats for rescue groups has provided an endless resource and motivation in painting companion animals.
With an interest in portraiture, she trained for a Certificate in Forensic/Composite Drawing for Law Enforcement. She is a selected member of the Manitoba Society of Artists, the Assiniboine Group of Artists Cooperative and the St James Art Club.
