Monika’s subject matter is varied and takes glimpses of the Canadian rural and urban landscape. Having lived in rural Manitoba for many years, the paintings pick out tiny details of a tree, or the delicate nature of flowers growing wild or in a backyard. Since moving to Winnipeg, the attention has now changed to include the urban environment with buildings and how nature fits into that landscape. She works in watercolour or oil but enjoys other mediums as well. Besides her many paintings Monika has illustrated and published a children’s book “Wilson, do you see it?”
Monika is a member of the Assiniboia Artist Co-op, Cre8ery Gallery and Selkirk Community Art Centre. Shows have been held at the Cre8ery Gallery, Wayne Arthur Gallery and Selkirk Community Art Centre.
